1 pack of socks (fold over tops stay on best!)

one small bottle of baby wash will last you. babies don't even need soap at first. see this link for more newborn washing tips http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/healthy-baby/PR00041
1 pack washclothes
1 pack burp cloths
no chemical ointments on newborns or on cloth diapers. olive oil is a safe barrier oil for diaper rash or "red butt"
1 aspirator
saline drops
nail clippers
thermometer

ring-a-links
musical toy (if you want a toy your newborn will be aware of)

1 bassinet or cosleeper sheet if that's where baby is going to sleep
2 crib sheets
waterproof mattress pad
sheet saver (the one I showed is Koala Baby from Babiesrus)

babybook

breastpads - buy a small pack to start, you may hate them or not even need them

pacifier wipes - not a necessity but a good product

car seat - front accessible strap adjustment

  • Please do make that video you mentioned about your thoughts on a bumbo seat, bouncer, swing, play mat, etc.! Thanks so much! Your videos are soooo helpful! :)

  • @tesa0712 - yea I meant to do that video before we put her swing into storage but my list of videos to make got way too long. Here's what I planned to say - I think it's a good idea, if you have the space have a bouncer, swing, bumbo, playmat, etc. The reason why is because you are changing up the babies perspective and they don't tire of each item as easily. Plus each one comes in handy in ways the others can not. I took the bouncer into the bathroom when I needed to take a shower.

  • Super cute videos, happen to come across this while looking for new ideas, even though I'm not a "new" momma, but I am expecting my 3rd. Just wanted to say, if you're still searching for an ear thermometer, check out Braun. Mine was on the pricier side - but I've had it since my oldest was born going on 6 years now and its been well worth it. =)

  • @kjcaston18 Thanks! I still haven't found one I love

  • What is that little bottle called that you use to wash your baby?

  • @littlelinda03 It's a peri bottle and they gave it to me at the hospital to help with my recovery but it's perfect for making a little shower of water go where ever you want on the baby. So if you want to really get under that little chin or behind the ears without worrying about dousing their face, it works great!

  • thanks v much for this. Wish I had this when my first one was born - I was a bit clueless.

  • I do not know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but pacifier wipes are also good for toys, teethers, and sippy cups that get dropped.
