Secretary Salazar: Don't let polar bears drown!

On May 8th, Secretary of the Interior announced he would not be rescinding the Bush regulation that removes global warming from consideration as part of the protections afforded to polar bears under the Endangered Species Act. Following his announcement, Greenpeace staged a symbolic protest in which a polar brown was drowned in the pond outside the Department of the Interior. We wanted to express our disappointment with the fact that Salazar has caved to industry pressure rather than listen to the 150,000 Americans who signed a petition asking him to save the polar bears.

There is only one planet, we are very greedy with it. Sure there are lots of human issues to deal with but we at least make choices , polar bears share the earth with us. They make the earth a more interesting diverse place, we at least should not impose our pollution, our overcrowding, our choices on them.
