  • Kafkaesque. Fascinating subject choice. The writing reminds me of Chabon. I'm 'reading' this now in an audio version of books on tape (really CD). The reader is great and I highly recommend this media version.

  • I'm currently listening to this on CD. Came upon it accidentally in the public library. I've read other Englander works and loved them. This is kafkaesque and reminiscent of Chabon. Great writing. The narrator in the CD version does a great reading. Recommend this format alot!

  • i might have to check this book out.

although it cracks me up that he is doing "author speak" which is that particular cadence so many authors use when reading in public.

  • "Ministry" was the best book i read all Summer. I still think about it a lot, months after I finished it.

  • Hey Nathan,

Great meeting you the other day at Book Group Expo.

Congrats on such a terrific book!

    Best,

    Kemble/Scott

  • Nathan,

The novel is great. I have already read it. 3 days! I am noticing that in this read, you don't chnage your inflection as you read. While I would not normally offer commentary on something like this, I feel you are reading as if you are doing various readings from the torah (minus the hebrew). May I suggest you slow down a bit, and change your inflection. Please do not take offense to this. I think you are fantastic! I'd love to hear your feedback

  • oh, yeah he is pretty cute. And really smart too!

  • He's pretty cute.
