Part II of a video of Aran Galligan doing a spine repair on a library book at Sojourner Truth Library at SUNY New Paltz.
Here is my disclaimer:
These videos demonstrate my way of doing things. They are meant as guidelines. If it doesn't work perfectly for you, then make some adjustments. There are many ways of doing things in this world and problem solving is a crucial skill to have.
I have a 1920s book that needs a repair like this, but the spine (which has split from the front cover/board, so the spine is flapping about. It has gold titling, which I'd like to preserve and re-attach. Could it be glued on to the finished new spine? I use a lot of PVA woodwork glue. Could this be used in book repairs like this?
Thanks in advance and for this clear explanatory video. It's good, good, good. 10/10 ...

Good instructions. Your techniques are just a bit different than mine but enjoyed your video. I have repaired close to 2000 books in our college library in the past 10 yrs and have found many short cuts that seem to be working well. My videos are coming soon.
