Race is an issue for atheist, materialist people.

Such people are ignorant, they believe that they're made up only from muscles, bones and blood.

While the truth is that, when we say "I", we're talking about our Soul, not body.

All the material world is just a perception God shows to our souls.

When people understand this truth, they get that racism is useless; empty cause.

Of course those descending from Africans will feel "this sense of brotherhood", especially if one regards the past as something embarrassing, which I can understand! One has to be careful with what one says! Simplism is the easiest thing to do!

The colonial past is far too complex, but I fear, that the savagery of slave trade and colonialism by the Europeans resides in themselves! The Africans were pagans, but the Europeans were Christians! And the Bible PROHIBITS slavery! It merely allows serfdom along with rights for the serfs!

Still, the Europeans continued to trade slaves, to keep slaves, to buy and sell slaves! THAT is the scandal! It was against the European's own morals! There is nothing else to be said! of course, not all Europeans were slave traders, on the contrary! But who would accept a foreigner come to one's country and rule over oneself just like that, regardless how nice he may be?

African-Americans, it seems to me, have this sense of brotherhood with all Africa-descended peoples - Afro-Latinos, true Africans - without realizing this pan-African identity doesn't exist in the places they so idealize. @RafaelFernandeSantos Yes, carnival is european, but turned "african" in expression! In Africa there's no such thing as an "African Race", because in Africa everyone still has his own identity! In Africa we have nations, peoples, some of them hating each others guts! Only in the Americas there is an "African Race"! That evolved in the Americas! A new identity with lots of pain in between! And of course there was a blending of European, African and Native! No doubt about it!
