I Thought I Lost You Chapt. 32

Demi's P.O.V:
It's been a week. All Adam does is go to school and come home and stays upstairs. If he comes down it's to go out with friends, if he even wants to do that much. I can't even tuck him in. I have to sneak into his room at like eleven at night just to make sure he's OK and sleeping.

I sat on the couch watching TV. The door opened and Joe came in. He held Ali in his arms.

-She does know how to walk right?
Joe: Oh shush.
-*giggles**gets up**goes over* Hey Ali.
Ali: *stuffed up* Hi Dwemi.
-Ooo Joe. That doesn't sound good.
Joe: Yeah. I know. *adjusts Ali* And I feel awful about this but I really need to go the studio with Kev and Nick. So can you-
-I'll watch her.
Joe: Thank you. *looks at Ali* I feel so bad leaving my little princess.
-She'll be fine Joe. I have child medicine.
Joe: I just don't like leaving her. Especially when she's sick.
-*holds out arms* Hand the child over.
Joe: *sighs**kisses her head* Be good for Demi OK? I love you.
Ali: I wove you too Daddy.
Joe: *kisses her head again**puts her in Demi's arms**hands her Ali's bag* This has her stuff. Her sippy cup, her nose spray, ear drops, her teddy bear, coloring b-
-Goodbye Joseph.
Joe: Alright I'm leaving. I'm leaving. *kisses Ali's head* I love you princess. *looks at Demi* Thank you.
-You're welcome.

Joe left and I put Ali on the couch. I knelt in front of her.

-Did Daddy give you medicine already?
Ali: *nods*
-Well do you want to watch some TV? I think your Daddy might be on.
Ali: *nods smiling a bit*
-Good. *smiles**turns on Disney Channel* I'm gonna go get you some juice.

I gave her the bear and went into the kitchen. I poured some orange juice for her. Adam came in.

Adam: Why is Ali here?
-Joe had to work and she's sick. *tightens lid on* I think you should stay upstairs. I don't want you getting sick.
Adam: *rolls eyes* Fine. *goes upstairs*

I sighed and brought Ali the juice.

Ali: Tank woo Dwemi.
-You're welcome sweetheart.

I took care of Ali all day. Joe came back around three. He practically sprinted through the door and knelt in front of the couch.

Joe: Hey baby.
Ali: Hi Daddy.
Joe: How's she doing?
-Fever went down and she's not as stuffy.
Joe: Good. *picks her up**stands up* Thanks for watching her.
-No problem. *hands him the bag**kisses Ali's cheek* Feel better sweetie.
Ali: Tank woo.

I smiled as Joe carried her out. I went in the kitchen and saw Ali's sippy cup. I should wash this so Ali doesn't get sick again. I saw Adam outside with a friend,. Whenever he's sick, he's so close to me. No matter what. And I do miss him. No Demi. You can't. It's wrong. You can't make your son sick for your own benefit....or can you?

Ali had drank directly from her sippy cup without the lid. I poured in some water. Adam came in sweating from playing basketball. I handed him the water. He drank it and then went upstairs.

The next morning I was downstairs making breakfast. Adam came downstairs looking horrible. His eyes were bloodshot and his hair was a mess. He was still in his pajamas. He walked over to me.

Adam: *stuffy* Mommy I don't feel good.
