Female genital mutilation tradition or torture?

Female genital mutilation, usually associated with Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia, is a growing problem in Europe. Despite criticism, the barbaric practice is thriving with more immigrants coming to Europe.
This practice can be stopped, says victim Khady Koita. 20 years after her own daughter was mutilated, Khady has written a book about it and is fighting the practice. It has nothing to do with religion, but is rather a tradition, says Khady.

You are not thinking, if you were circumcised as a child, how do you know that there isn't any difference in pleasure????

Why beat around the bush? Say what they are doing! They are cutting off the girls' clitoris. I'm not a female, but I know that that area is extremely sensitive and filled with nerves. I was circumcised as a baby, but I don't recall a thing, because I was a baby when that happened. These girls appear to be undergoing this procedure while they are young children in adolescence. It's disgusting any way you look at it.

Whether forced upon boys or girls, circumcision is torture and mutilation of children. It MUST come to a quick end. More and more parents are making the right choice to keep their sons and daughters intact, as they learn the truth. In 2009, most American parents, 68.5%, kept their sons intact.

I'm sick of people acting as if a child doesn't have certain rights simply because they can't speak for themselves. Not being permentantly disfigured should be a right we all have.

Unfortunatly the human race is too stupid to realized having sex, and not using birth control doesn't make you an expert on anatomy, and does not give you the right to amputate perfectly healthy parts of a child's body.

@thecursedland I know and I'm against those too. People say to pick your battles, and this is one of them.

Obviously someone who would sacrifice their child isn't worried about their wellbeing and i'm not going to change their mind.

My goal is to inform people, and maybe change their minds about what is and what isn't apropriate behavior twards a person.

@hoodmilk I was merely saying that there are other atrocities that occur besides child circumcision. Did you know that there are children taken from parents and used as sexual toys, or used in ritual sacrifice as the ones who perpetrate this madness have incestuous orgies after slaying the young child?
