"I'm not a party girl, more quietly sociable with small groups. As such I spend a lot of time in my room, working, eating and socialising. I felt that this view of Cambridge related well to the sense of insularity about the university and parts of the town. Just as there are negative and positive elements to what is sometimes called 'The Cambridge Bubble', so there are good and bad points about the size and function of my room."

Nice room. At Cardiff university in 1980 I lived in a room at the top of a house for £9 a week with a coin operated meter, no fridge and I boiled a kettle to wash with. I had a Baby Belling cooker which made better toast than a microwave would though :-) The electric fan heater kept it above 10 centigrade at night and I thought I was living pretty well at the time.

Woooww..Um hello..Ive learned about Oxford and Harvard and Cambridgem when I was really young. Im growing up with being used to the idea I'll have to work very hard to get there one day. Its one of my biggest dreams. And its so ..i dont know, wonderful, being able to see how it looks like! it was nice and old but the whole bubble thing sounded really fascinating..I wonder how it is like living inside 'the bubble'.
