Pure stock racing has some of the most stringent rules there are. Only the best street cars run here. None of this 5 liter mustang crap about how they they run 10's when they would be lucky to run 13's in this class. Only real performance cars can win in this class.

i dont like it when family fights but tha camaros gave it there ALL n notice how there arent any piece of SHIT mustangs there
-
@1966caprice . Its allowed to run because yenko didnt alter the performance set up
-
@ezernut9mm Technically yes, now that I think about it a yenko car isn't the best example of a "stock" muscle car, a better one would be an L-88 corvette.
-
i thought yenko was a dealer that took factory cars and modded them in their own shop. wouldn't this be considered "aftermarket"? just wondering. no disrespect intended.
-
@ezernut9mm . Its the exact same as a COPO, but with YENKO Badging. Both cars are still stock. This COPO has the Aluminum 427, and the YENKO has the Iron 427. The ZL-1 Makes more power.

isn't a yenko camaro an aftermarket modded car?
-
@BLACKLACDTS Yeah those fox body stangs are wicked as hell if you mod them. I would love to have a 93 cobra someday, but probably wont ever have one.
-
Whew! I wish ford came out with cars this wicked!!! About the most outrageous ford I could think of would be the 427 Ford Cammer powered 67 fairlane, but that car is probably too heavy and they only built one of one of that car. Also there was the 67 supersnake shelby Mustang with the 427 side oiler but then again probably couldn't beat these cars.

stock performance vehicles will always get more respect from me then any car with shit-loads of aftermarket mods.
11's on polyglass tires? love to see a honda do that!! lol didn't the zl-1s have 13 to1 compression? what compression is your yenko running? 12.5 to 1 i would guess? and, what where you using for gas? had to be racing fuel

I believe I was running around 11:1 compression at the time, but should be around 12:1 with the rebuilt engine...and the advertised compression ratio of the ZL1 was 12.5:1 I believe, but it was quite a bit below that at that time...however, I believe he's recently stepped it up.

We both run the original F70 Polyglass tires...the ZL1 runs 14 inch wheels/tires, and our Yenko runs 15 inch wheels/tires.

so the zl1 ran the 11.77? I thought it would have ran a better time then the yenko.. hmm...

@dime6664ever The ZL1 ran an 11.77 to my 11.9x on that pass...I had the mph, but he had the better ET [and win light!]. I managed some low-mid 11.7s that day, and I believe the ZL1 went 11.5x's or 11.6x's...
