In September 2009 Betsy Damon served as Artist in Residence at the University of Dayton's Art Street facility. Damon is recognized internationally for her work revolving around the concept of Living Water and has been awarded numerous grants by both the artistic and ecological communities. She is the founder of Keepers of the Waters, and organization that serves as an international communications network for people actively engaged in projects that transform our relationship to water.

As Lead Designer and Artist, Betsy Damons work with Keepers of the Waters approaches a vast complexity of water issues. Betsy's many projects function as a cross-cultural resource through collaborative, innovative design, community organizing, mentoring and education.

Most notable of these projects is the Living Water Garden in Chegndu, China. Completed in 1998, this public park has gained international recognition for its beauty as well as its environmental and education features. A fully-functional water treatment system , wild-life refuge and tourist attraction, the living water garden was designed in line with a comprehensive revitalization project that will in aid in Changdu's population growth over the next 200 years.

While in Dayton, Betsy Damon met with many members of the University and surrounding community to discuss issues of Daytons river corridor and aquifer system. Her exhibit highlighted the importance of aesthetics, sustainability and ecological awareness and its impact on the quality of life in our region. With Betsy's help, people that attended were able to develop and share their own ideas regarding the importance of the water in our community in hopes to continue and strengthen the conversation.
