This video shows basic educational info about how tree planting is performed in Western Canada. Includes discussions about gear, seedlings, planting specs, methodology, quality control, and anything else that should be pertinent to a new tree planter. Much more information is available at the following website:

Please note that this is a re-encoded version of the video, designed to take advantage of YouTube's improving quality settings. The original was posted online in 2008, and received a lot of traffic, so I figured that I should improve the quality a bit.

Someday I hope to have videos online to cover intermediate and advanced planting techniques.

  • Thx :)

  • @SaraWylde None, unfortunately. You'll need to find your own tent, sleeping bag, boots, rain gear, and planting gear. The planting gear by itself would run around $200. Everything else depends on the quality of what you buy and where you get it. It's a bit of an investment to get into the industry.

  • Scooter... what gear is typically provided? ... Any?
