Money property system is ROOT problem.
1. people need food, water, energy, medicine, etc.
2. money systems require scarcity, so they will never create abundance of 1
3. sharing ALL resources and knowledge keeps small groups from controlling everyone
4. we have the resources and technology to provide EVERYTHING for the world now
5. automating the production distribution, frees up humanity to no longer be wage slaves to governments or corporations.

i disagree with both of the previous comments. i know arguing won't get anywhere. so we agree to disagree.

I think the point she was trying to make is that the concept of positive thinking, as practiced currently in this country, serves to mask the fundamental flaws in society and attempts to train citizens to roll with the punches and adapt themselves to unfair practices.
Far from accepting failure, Ms. Ehrenreich is encouraging action by refusing to gloss over bad things thus creating a better, more urgent incentive to make real positive change.

Ehrenreich is a brilliant person. I've read 3 of her books, and I love them all.
