SAN DIEGO (March 21, 2011) U.S. Navy families and Sailors said goodbye just before the amphibious transport dock ship USS Cleveland (LPD 7) departed San Diego for its final deployment, in support of Pacific Partnership 2011. Pacific Partnership is an annual deployment of forces from the Pacific Fleet, in cooperation with regional governments and military forces, along with humanitarian and non-government organizations. Cleveland is prepared to transport more than 200 humanitarian aid shipments to several Asian island-nations, including Timor-Leste, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and the Federate States of Micronesia. Cleveland is scheduled for decommissioning September 2011 after 44 years of service. (U.S. Navy video by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Apprentice David Hooper/Released)
