I agree that they are definetly getting better.

I never rely on their past greatness. the past is the past for sure. but im sure you'll admit that in fact we are dealing with the present, than the habs are once again a good team. obviously not the 50's or 70's canadiens, that will never happen again for anyone, but they are in the top 6 or 7 teams. so if its the present you wanna focus on, i like where they are at. they are easily the best canadian team right now.

I am not debating the greatness of the Canadians as a franchise. All I am saying is that history is exactly that, in the past. I just don't see how their history has any relevance as to how good the habs are today. It seems like a crutch that fans of teams with great histories use when their teams are not at their best.

very strange way to look at things, very strange. i guess there is no such thing as history in the nhl. tear down the hall of fame and erase all the names inscribed on the cup, history doesnt matter anymore. its a shame that so many so called hockey fans just dont get it.
