  • ahhh municipal zoning and building codes, the bread and butter of urban decay and gentrification. it's why asian cities are vibrant and have real communities, while american cities are hollow and soulless. no public space, and private space is intensely controlled for very specific capitalist purposes.

  • I attended 2 RUST weekends in Albany in 2007 and 2008. Its a super, practical, affordable, hands-on educational experience in sustainable living. We were busy, interested and invested the whole time. I've never been to the Rhizome Collective in Austin, but I can tell you that the set-up in Albany was impressive itself. I hope that Scott, Stacey and their friends in NY are able to continue their educational outreach. Lauren was fantastic, too! Thanks for the interview.
