PVC roofing membranes are inherently fire resistant. Polyvinyl chloride (vinyl or PVC) is a naturally fire retardant polymer a distinction between it and all other plastics. PVC membranes contain additional fire retardants, making them slow to catch or spread fire and self-extinguishing when the source of heat or flame is removed.

  • This is a good test demostration of the PVC FR properties.

Best regards from Colombia to Vinyl Roofs people.

  • The PVC material goes out as soon as the flame is removed. The bad part is the TPO dropping down into the attic space....which could easily happen around a roof penetration.
