  • Is this version by Melodiya? Compared to another recording from Canyon, this clarinet tone is more russian style, just reminds me of Sanderling/Leningrad PO. Both are best, no "one of"

  • Svetlanov and Rozhdestvensky are the only ones I know of who take it at this speed. It is definitely a weird clarinet tone, almost like a harmonica. I love it slow. The effect of the strings is something like the effect of a slow-cooked meal. Everything is richer and more savory. 

  • I don't really like the soloist's tone, however, they play with such passion, and so does the orchestra as a whole. such a beautiful movement.
