My first capacitor bank made out of the capacitors from the flash units in disposable cameras.

About the 'experiments':
From 0:23 to 0:40, steel rods are used to make the short; the bottle was originally intended to contain helium from a party balloon.
At 1:16, I'm dipping one terminal of the cap. bank into a container of saltwater that's connected to the other terminal; it made an interesting muffled noise, but the mic. on my camera isn't that great.
From 1:19 to 1:29, I'm using a 30 gauge copper wire to make the short.

Tell me what other 'experiments' I should do after adding a few more caps on.

  • dude, your an idiot...(in the "holy shit thats a big ark" way)

I've only had enough courage to connect 10 of them together...

  • Haha... I suppose I'll take that as a compliment. :-Þ

When I have the time, I want to go around to a whole bunch of photo developers and get the same amount of capacitors seen here and add them to this (I'll need thicker bus wires also), but I'm working on other projects at the moment... You should try that and post a video of it!

  • i see your parquet on fire i dunno why XD

  • Actually, those sparks never burned my floor or my skin, although one time it tipped over and shorted out right on top of the carpet; that left a small dark-gray spot.

  • I'm not sure if copper pipes as bus bars would be overkill for a 7.8 mF 330V photo flash bank, (which I am nearly done with).

  • @drewh0208 im makeing a bank of 60 or more caps. did your bus wires really heat up? they look pretty thick already i say that because im hooking up 60 and i was not planing on making a bus wire go across them i was puting them on bred bord and soldering there leads together to make rows of about 10 then connecting them tho thicker wire and to there respective spots eventually to a bigger wire (where all 60 meet)

  • @bloods212 yes i charge 18 caps with 1 "camera chip" and no it is still only 330v but lets say 2 caps is dubble the amps than if you only charged 1 still it is a vary small amount of amps but it will hert a lot more than just with 1

  • @3asiancubers use a bigger trasister then or 2 of them

  • I made myself a modified camera charger circuit to run a neon bulb. The problem is that my driver transistor keeps heating up to about 220 degrees Fahrenheit while drawing about 150 mA.

  • hello i have 2 questions:

    1. can i charge all the caps with 1 camera chip? (about 10 caps)

    2. if i have 2 caps which are 330 volts each do they both add up to 660 volts when both connected?

  • how did u make the cap charger. i use rectify mains

  • U should make an electromagnetic rail gun with those

  • Any idea how to get these cheap? Disposable cameras are so expensive these days :P

  • @Driv3th3hiv3 Don't capacitize every word either bro
