Criminal Intent - Hallelujah

This vid is based on Frame, the episode where so many elements of Robert Goren's life were set on collision courses. However, it evolved into a bit of a study of the important relationships in his life.

Hallelujah is a sound of joy, but this is far from joyful. I found the love and the pain Robert Goren experienced in his relationships was poignantly reflected in the haunting lift and fall of the music.

As the focus changed from Frame to Goren's close relationships, so did the people in vid. I originally included Nicole, but as time went on, I realized how unimportant she was - really just another (but more persistent) bad guy. Although MFB was another bad guy, the ramifications of his part in Goren's life will echo on forever.

I had no initial plans to add Eames, as I was centered on the misery of Frame. As that changed to relationships, the contrast between all the others and her was, well, *huge*. She is the glue holding Robert Goren together right now.

Sublime! Loved it! The people closest to him - his mentor, his mother, his brother, all of them, lied to and betrayed him! The scene where he throws a punch right before Ross! His verbal attack on Rodgers! So sad....and then there is Eames. Seeing this reminds me how she has been the only one always there for him, sticking up for him, and HE betrayed her trust (ep. Purgatory). She is his rock. Loved the video!

Oh god, at 3:00 Mins. When he tells Bobby, "You're Free." God the look on his face!

All of "Frame" just killed me. Watching Bobby...from the revelation of his father, to him in Rodgers office yelling. Oh god, it was so hard to watch. I feel so damn bad for him! This video is bringing me to tears. Very well done!

I first watched this video about a year or two ago. Today I was searching for a certain version of "Hallelujah" and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I realized I was associating Goren with the version I was looking for so I searched for the song with LOCI and wound up back at this video with my favorite version of the song. Thanks!

I only saw S6-8 this month. Prior to that, I had only seen the earlier seasons + s10. How much I missed!. I know some people think the show jumped the shark, but I love s6+ Bobby even more than early Bobby. The early Bobby is fascinating and adorable, but somewhat inaccessible. Life caught up with him, and we got to know the character through his outstanding scenes with John Glover, Rita Moreno, Roy Sheider, Tony Goldwyn,Eric Bogosian, and of course Kathryn Erbe, Your vid captured that so well.

Bobby Goren... I normally would have liked a guy like him, but he looks like an older version of my ex. So not a good emotion. =/

Frame made me cry. This song isn't joyful. It's resigned.
