"Armed And Ready", one of Michael Schenker Group's most famous songs (originally from the 1983 album of the same name), is here performed at the Main Stage of the 2011 High Voltage Festival.

Line-up:
Michael Voss - vocals (also lead guitar on other tracks)
Michael Schenker - lead guitar
Wayne Findlay - rhythm guitar/ keyboards
Elliott "Dean" Rubinson - bass
Herman Rarebell - drums

Michael's brother, Rudolf (the founder and rhythm guitarist of Scorpions since 1965), also played on some songs, such as "Rock You Like A Hurricane" (off their 1984 album "Love At First Sting"). Other guests throughout the show included Pete Way of UFO on bass and Jeff Scott Soto and Doogie White on vocals.

Moreover, the band previewed material from Michael's brand new studio album "Temple Of Rock" out now. The rest of the setlist featured many MSG hits, as well as UFO's "Doctor Doctor" and "Another Piece Of Meat" from Scorpions' "Lovedrive" (1979), a song that had originally been recorded with Michael as a guest.

  • @Petrostser, Actually Michael rejoined Scorpions. He started recording Lovedrive and then quit just as fast as he appeared.Mattias was hired after Uli left then was set aside when Michael showed interest and when Michael quit again Mattias rightfully said " do you want me or not".

  • @bartab420 Yes, you're mostly right - I just thought that was too minor a detail to include in my reply to stillofthenightcl's question. However, I believe Michael didn't quit. Instead, after missing a lot of shows and, finally one night, collapsing on stage due to his drinking problem, Scorpions got Matthias Jabs (who, as you said, was Roth's initial replacement). Actually people thought Michael was still in the band until "Lovedrive" came out and they realised he just guested on three songs.

  • Who is the bass player??

  • @stillofthenightcl The bassist is Pete Way of UFO. Michael Schenker left Scorpions during their 1972 Lonesome Crow Tour to join UFO and stayed with them until the late '70s when he founded Michael Schenker Group (MSG). The drummer is not Chris Slade, but Herman Rarebell (who joined Scorpions in 1977, left in 1995, has released several solo albums under the nickname Herman Ze German and played with Michael Schenker on the 1979 Scorpions album "Lovedrive" on which MS guested).

  • @PetrosTser Thanx Peter for the answer, but IMO is just not possible that this man was Pete Way!!! He looks too young and healthy to be good old Pete!!! To me he looks more like Pavel something, the bass player of Scorpions. Of course I could be wrong.

  • @stillofthenightcl Eureka! It's Elliott "Dean" Rubinson! Way also appeared during the show but, as you mentioned, he is not as fit and young as Rubinson. Besides, Way was wearing red trousers with vertical black stripes! Like the good old times! Thanks a lot for bringing up this issue (and for watching the video, by the way)!
