Thank you for posting this ! If you visit Rockholm 66 you will see that all these Elk are now dead. There were only 4,200 on the Feed Ground this past March 2010 . It is tragic when you realize that there are only 2,200 left in the N Herd. 2,500 stay in Jackson leaving 1,700 to return to Yellowstone + 2,200 N Herd = 3,900 Elk.

in reality the boy scouts helps collect the antlers and then bidders buy them and 80% of the proceds go back to the refuge to help feed the elk in the winter. its called elkfest check it out. pretty awesome

i was wondering if you go to there to hunt antlers when it opens up to the public. if you do how much antlers do u usually find?

We can`t go and hunt for antlers. The National Elk Refuge collects every and single antler every season and sells it at the town square to make some money for the park... =D Thanks for comenting!
