Afro-Cuban Jazz Project - Campina

Orlando Valle, known by the nickname Maraca, formed the Afro-Cuban Jazz Project after years of popularity in his native Havana as a respected jazz flute player. The group plays a curious blend of guaracha, bolero, and traditional jazz filtered through some of Cuba's most respected native players. The lineup has included singers Wilfredo Campa and Aramis Galindo, conga player Tata Guines, and tres (Cuban triple-string guitar) player Coto. theres a wonderful movie about Cuba back in the 40's that far surpasses the charm of the standard music of the buena vista social club musically. its an animated gem called "chico and rita" theres jazz, cuban classics and latin jazz. even a tune with Chano Pozo. its difficult to find the film but worth the look. (i found the soundtrack on amazon) you can look it up in youtube.

Thanks for the movie - I see it is done as animation ( I ll try to find it ) - I adore animated motion pictures.
