  • :) God bless

  • and this is one of thoses in thanks giving part of the mass, and father stan went to the homily that he gave and made a song of it, Mass is holy, sure it is, but no one is playing here with it, God its love and there are so many ways to love him back, i particulary find a very good way to pray when i sing, but wee are all diferent and God loves us the way we are and who we are.

  • im sorry kdurston that you did lost respect for Father Stan... i dont know there but in Portugal we sing in masses, like 8 or more musics per mass,

I am an atheist but I certainly follow your logic here. The church puts its blinders on when money is at stake. He is a rock star and brings in lots of cash. Jesus would be horrified that this is the criteria used by the church to justify its position.

  • If someone wanted to do something like this at a funeral for their loved one, the RCC would never allow it.

  • God bless you and Fr Stan

  • Father Stan is coming to St. Mary in Williamston, MI on June 6, 2009!

  • i'll take you word for it :)

    Pax et bonum!

  • Im sorry if i dint make my self clear, Fr. Stan made a homily and there was a choir who was goinf to sing after His homily, but on this mass as the priest is a singer he singed the thanks giving song. So, i do understand what you say about this issue, but in my country we sing in this part of the mass all the time, is quite normal and he helps to focus on the momment that it is (after communion)

  • that is to say, the laity trusted the priests too much. as a parent one understands that one cannot know all the children are doing unless it is told. it is the same with bishops. i'm curious, are you of the dimond bros. ilk or the john lane school of sedevacantism?

  • but i'm bot a priest bound by ecclesiastical obedience to the ordinances of the execution of the Mass. and God does not love us for who we are, but in spite of who we are. that is the glory of grace. i don't doubt fr. was sincere in his act, but it's the breach of solemnity that is at issue. if this was before mass, or after, it wouldn't be a problem. but is in place of a homily.

  • I agree that there is difference in the number of songs, even dance, depending on the cultural relevance. However, there is NO tradition in the Church of singing homilies or sermons. i'm glad you sing your prayers, so do i on occasion,
