@MrGta12367 ...i prefer brownings...they are better in construction and are as accurate...i used the remington 40xb as a varminter (single shot) and the .22-250 was ok but the 6mm wasn't as good and it's extractor was faulty...i think the 700 uses the same bolt design
i owned a couple of remington 40xbs....one of them broke the extractor ...this is the only firearm i've ever owned that broke an extractor ..poor design
I'm not sure what happened to the quality of the Remington 700, the last 3 I bought the quality serious suffered and the accuracy was awful, I sold all 3 of them then bought a CZ 550.
We have 35 Remington 700s in our family so we are a Remington using family and I still have 4 Remington custom built 700's, but I am done spending $600 to 700 for a Remington 700's that does not shoot well like thy used too .
I'm guessing it is now all Illegal Mexican labor at Remington why quality has fallen off.
@Ljungman42 Personally, I go with "Karbean" as it mates with "Karabiner" (German word, same meaning). I think that's the closest language to English there is.
@Ljungman42 Well, it derives from a French word where the ending is silent. So professor, you tell us how to correctly pronounce an originally silent French syllable in correct 2011 English. Trick question, it's a live language.
During the intro to this video where they are talking about the accomplishments of Remington, all I could think about was the unreliable, rust-prone POS I paid $700 for called a "Remington 870". If private sales were possible in California, that POS would be sold for a loss ASAP. Total junk.
@EmeraldTriangle80 they're tough. i used to work at an explosive deslag company and they used those for blasting off small pieces rather than using a charge. it was nothing out of the norm to run 1-2+ cases (not boxes and often more) through them at a time. they were beat, dropped, neglected and used in extremely dirt environments. the worst thing would happen is a warped barrel. sometimes they wouldn't eject but that was after they got good and hot. you have a truly great shotgun buddy.

Why, in every show, do they say "Karbean"? Who talks like that? How they looked at the word Carbine and pronounced it like that I'll never know.
