You can't blame marketing for everything. As parents and adults, we know better. Too lazy to cook and don't want to change our own habits so we pass them on to our children. Also, too lazy to research. There's so much information available and resources available now. There is simply no excuse. Yes you may have to plan menus and spend time in the kitchen, but it's well worth it in the end. Put the health of yourself and your family first.

@masterp213 They misquoted it. He's considered the father of Western Medicine and said diseases were caused by microscopic organism rather than magical mumbo jumbo. Of course the Germ Theory wasn't widely accepted until the rise of modern science.

lol hypocrates is not the father of medicine. lol white folks try to claim to be the father of everything. they are only the father to destruction to every native ppl in the world so they travel and steal resources, get out of africa, the americas, and austrailia

That is very true, Mensa Cyclist.
The cold, hard truth is that most people would rather die, literally die, than give up their junk food, their sitting on the couch watching television for several hours a day, their beer or their cigarettes, than make a change and be healthier.
I'm 45. I lift iron, do a lot of walking and I'm taking a class in Shaolin Kenpo (Japanese version of Kung Fu). No one in class would guess I'm 45.

I've read studies along the lines of what evolutionisscience is talking about which also support what he says. I've also read studies which have found that exercising helps in increasing mental function. For sure, we need to keep an eye on the journals, especially to see if confounding variables were found for these studies. We also need to make sure we understand that scientific results are meant to be generalized toward a population, not to every individual. Slender doesn't always mean smart.

A correlation study done with mice found that there was, to an extent, of course, a negative correlation between the amount eaten in its lifetime and the length of its lifetime.
Meaning, less for the mice meant more life (albeit, probably a less happy one) in the long run -- so long as they weren't starving.
People don't NEED as many calories as we're told we need. People who are slender in figure are more likely to live longer than if they aren't. As a bonus, slender have shown to be smarter.
This video should have millions of views. The fact that it does not is tradgedy. I'll link it to my Facebook page but unfortunately I expect almost no one to watch the video and 100% of those who do to completely ignore its message. The average person will pretend they are interested in being healthy but their actions suggest otherwise. I've learned over the years that many people have only a moderate interest in being alive and thriving. I can't imagine having this mindset but I know some do
