BTW Oprah just "released" (a.k.a. FIRED) OWN's CEO Christina Norman after only 4 months on the air. I guess Oprah is a little disappointed with OWN's ratings as well. Would you let go of your CEO if your network was such a huge success???

OWN just put out a press release today "bragging" that a few select shows have shown a ratings increase over Discovery Health a year ago. It's really a hoot. In it, they brag about a .33 increase here, a .48 increase there. Hey guess what O? 0.33 is still a zero no matter how you try to spin it. Talk about not even "single digits"!!! You're such a smart business woman so you should know that, O! Face facts, OWN is a major BUST!!!

Hey, lifelong soap fan here. I miss them all, but it's kind of ridiculous to get upset at one woman for not throwing HER money into something she's probably been advised is a bad investment. Let's be real, generation after generation are no longer huddled around the tube and investing the time in soaps. Oprah or no Oprah, an era is ending as they all do.

I have tried not to get mad about these shows getting cancelled but after seeing this I am extremely mad, I find this horrible that she wouldnt even attempt to save our beloved shows. If not enough people watch them explain the hundreds and thousands of people who were trying to save AMC and OLTL.

The ironic part is that Oprah made an appearance on All My Children and even had the cast of All My Children on in 2010.

No matter how many people disagree with Oprah business is business and the ratings don't lie. There has been an incredible decline in ratings from 20 years ago, even 10 years ago. Sad but true.

There is a HUGE difference between the words "can't" and "WON'T"...it is the LATTER that Ms. Winfrey SHOULD have used. She chooses (mistakenly IMHO) to not take them on...which I think is a HUGE mistake!! Her network's ratings are faltering. Badly. Soap fans are reliably ONE thing...INCREDIBLY LOYAL! She would have had a GUARANTEED audience of 2.7 million (minimum) to whom she could have advertised her OTHER programming. THAT is how you build an audience. Gigantic mistake Oprah, HUGE!!!

Well you really can't get mad at her if you know the business. advertisement pays the bills and if they are not selling a lot of goods they have to close down shop, and it cost millions of dollars to even make a soap. I'm upset too, not enough people are watching,because everyone has to go to work. no more love in the afternoon, i guess ou got to do it all by yourself now. lol
