your facts are mixed up,companies arent directly conected to the conflict. the Democratic Republic of the Congo is controlled by armed groups: the congolese national army, the 'democratic' force for the liberation of Rwanda among other. these groups control the mines and therefore the poppulation.. they rape, steal, kill..etc and buy more fire arms, grenades,etc.. they profit from smuggling these minerals across the borders to india, china, malaysia and thailand, where companies import minerals
