Ingrid of Sweden (Ingrid Victoria Sofia Louise Margareta; 28 March 1910 7 November 2000) was the queen consort of King Frederik IX of Denmark.

Princess Ingrid married Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark and Iceland, in Stockholm on 24 May 1935. They were related in several ways. In descent from Oscar I of Sweden, they were third cousins. In descent from Leopold I, Grand Duke of Baden, they were third cousins. In descent from Paul I of Russia, Frederick was a fourth cousin of Ingrid's mother. She became the Queen of Denmark upon her husband's accession to the throne on 20 April 1947. The couple had three children:

Margrethe II of Denmark (born 1940)
Princess Benedikte (born 1944)
Princess Anne-Marie, (born 1946), former Queen of Greece (1964-1973)
After her death in Fredensborg Palace, Fredensborg, in 2000, Queen Ingrid was interred next to her husband outside Roskilde Cathedral near Copenhagen.

  • Wonderful, touching tribute. Thanks for posting.

  • Lol... I remember I have the family photo at 3:24 as a postcard. I havent seen that picture for some years.

  • Tiene una bisnieta canaria que es idéntica a ella. Que superguapa era.

  • My friend the composers name: Yorgos Kazantzis..

    - About the greek-thing... honestly.. hope you know the word: Joke...

I agree 100% with you that talent knows no nationality.!

What I meant was that I have never heard of any greek composers... Most classical composers I know are either German, or Austrian.. Beethoven, Mozart..

But as I said. BEAUTIFUL classical music... - and hell yeah., everyone being human, you're right...!

  • BEAUTIFUL VIDEO! Thanx 4 al t photos - I never saw pics of Queen Ingrid as a child or gilr, or older woman before--only those when Pss. Anne-Marie got married, & she was middle-aged. I think she'd hav looked les sever if she shaped & plucked her eyebrows. Som f the later pics show her as a kind & loving woman --those !@@I*** eyebrows prevented showing this 2 much in middle-aged pics. A lady

    w charm & grace - & grandmotherNLaw f former American Marie-Chantal Miller!

  • @Oliversk Thanks 4 info -- but did u give name of composer or of song. As 2 a Greek composing classical music - TALENT KNOWS NO NATIONALITY! EVERYONE IS HUMAN!!!!!!
