Even so, I must confess that the moment when Punny Bones says that he's leaving Mordavia is my personal strongest feel-good moment of this game.

@aridchicken kinda. its a glitch more than anything. the paladin acquires skills as its honor goes up but the skills are located in the magic folder. so the game awards you magic just so it can allow you access to that folder

I think QG4 imports all spell skills as 300 when importing from QG3 (and only QG3), even if you don't have magic. Because Magic is imported as 0, these spells don't show up until you get the paladin heal.

I think QG4 does this because the paladin/fighter/thief don't have the ability to get certain spells in QG3 and these are awarded when importing as a "free gift." It's the same when you import with magic in QG2 and suddenly have the zap spell, which only the magic user could have in QG1.

The paladin spontaneously gets magic when he gets the Healing spell, because the game counts it as a spell.

Strangely enough, when I did it, I didn't get any of the wizard spells, just the healing spell. Not sure why that was.

You can easily run these on Vista. I'm running these on Vista 64 bit. You just use DosBox to run them in a virtual environment.
