The American Cancer Society tracks cancer occurrence, including the number of deaths, cases, and how long people survive after diagnosis. ACS also tracks data regarding behaviors that influence the risk of developing cancer and the use of screening tests.

An audio presentation of highlights of cancer statistics in 2009, narrated by Dr. Otis Brawley, Chief Medical Officer of the American Cancer Society, is available for viewing.

  • I am doing the Relay for Life in my town! I can't wait! Help Find a Cure.

  • Thanks for being involved in Relay For Life.

  • how does the incidence of cancer correspond to the fluoridization of our water supplies?

  • The overall consensus among reviews, based on the studies done to date, is that there is no strong evidence of a link between water fluoridation and cancer. However, several reviews note that further research, including better-designed studies, is needed to address this topic.

  • That last slide really affirms my support of the American Cancer Society and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. My mother passed away in 2007 after 2 years with pancreatic cancer and the pancreatic cancer figures are just bad. 5% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer will not live 5 years past diagnosis. I am participating in my first Relay for Life in 2 weeks. Good luck with all you do ACS!

  • Great video

  • I'm just looking for a correlation study on the rise of water fluoridation and the rise of cancer?

I'm not alledging a link, but a possible link, since fluoride is and was used as a rat poison. Also, do these studies show what the cumulative effects of ingesting fluoride are?

~What is the Society's view on Dr. Mullenix's study?

    I appreciate the concerted reply.
