I was looking at these images worrything that there would be no mention of God in this, then I heard the first words of Genesis. Praise the Lord... this was such an encouragement to me.

What a great video! I recall "From the Earth to the Moon" in the episode about this mission, 1968 was a horrible year for our country and around the world. I think everything was summed up best with the last words of the episode when one of the mission control people read the astronauts a letter...and it said simply "You saved 1968". I love those who dream and make things happen, even in the face of adversity.

I was 12 when Apollo 8 happened. The year of 1968 was very ugly (Vietnam, Chicago riots, Martin Luther King killed, Bobby Kennedy killed) and Apollo 8 was the bright spot in that year's history. Talking to friends of a similar age, what went on with the space race was one of the big motivation for thse of us who became those "crazy engineers" of the next generation. Merry Christmas everyone!

I remember I was 11 years old when Apollo 8 flew to the moon. I thought that they landed on that mission. When Apollo 11 came along and they said it was the first landing, I remember saying, "I thought they did that last Christmas!" I've paid closer attention since then.
