i am actually one of the guards, the marble is just fine, jimbo the guard janitor washes the marble or as u say "dishes" the marble every week. great question, glad i could help

I saw this when I visited Washington DC. It's amazing how they keep this guard going 24 hours a day, all year round. But damn, hold the camera still! (whoever filmed this)

Heres a fact, the people for changing of the guard is one our tour and non stop for 24 hours every day of the year and in any condition whats so ever it is never canceled. so its an honor to watch this video to see how much work and honor they put into this

Did you know Honor Guard Badge of the Tomb Guards is the 2nd least awarded badge in the Army, 2nd only to the Army Astronaut Badge. Only 400 something have been awarded in 70 years.

They are actually into the 500s now. But this is true about the astronaut badge, which I think is no longer awarded.
