Video is property of MSNBC's Today Show. This was only uploaded to show our international acquaintances the interview.

Thomas Shahan, also known as Opo Terser, was on the Today Show to talk about his macrophotography. You can see more of his amazing work on his Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/opoterser and his Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/terser. This was an outstanding opportunity to introduce a broad audience to the fantastic the world of arthropods, and just another step in helping people get an awareness for nature on a scale they've probably never noticed.

You can also see my photography on my Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/abikeOdyssey/ , as Thomas and I are interested in many of the same organisms. He was my original inspiration for Salticid photography, although I shoot quite diverse subjects.

PS Thomas - I was so proud to see my deli cup on national television :)

  • Obviously a guy with a passion for his hobby. Amazing pictures. Thumbs up.

  • If I had a dollar for everytime he says "here's what's happening in your neck of the woods," I would be able to afford a nice dedicated macro lens (I'm thinking micro nikkor f/2.8 105mm VR, Tamron f/3.5 180mm [IF] macro, or the new sigma f/2.8 180mm macro).

Awesome macro photography, Thomas! It's genuinely inspiring. :)
