The second 10 minutes of a half-hour tour of Sagamore Hill, a National Historic Site, and home of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president of the United States, hosted by Charles Markis of the US National Park Service.
Alice was so difficult because Theodore refused to ever talk about her mother. Ever. His pain was so absolute that he didn't even think how that affected Alice. If Edith had opposed him on that, things with Alice would have been much easier. It was Bamie/Anna who told Alice about her mother. This house would have belonged to Theodore, Alice, and young Alice. But she had kidney disease. Very tragic.
I appreciate your comment , thank you, please check out the newest posts- TR's 150th birthday- I hoped to make his memory more endearing and real as a person. His great grandson speaks of him as does a gentleman whose father actually knew and interacted with TR.- Enjoy there are three parts- Bob, TVBOB
