I was bored so I put together this montage of stills and poster art of some of my favorite scary movies of the past and used the theme from "Halloween" and music from the shower scene in "Psycho" as the background music, performed by the 101 Strings Orchestra. I love the fact that most of these films are subtle and rely on psychological terror rather than on tasteless gore. From monsters to hauntings, from unholy terrors to madmen and madwomen, the images featured are:

Halloween (1978)
The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari (1920)
Burn, Witch Burn! (1962)
The Haunting (1963)
The Cat And The Canary (1939)
Dracula (1931)
Dragonwyck (1946)
The Exorcist (1973)
Experiment In Terror (1962)
I Saw What You Did (1965)
Cape Fear (1962)
Cat People (1942)
Bride Of Frakenstein (1935)
Whatever Happened To Baby Jane? (1962)
Gaslight (1944)
The Horror Of Dracula (1958)
House On Haunted Hill (1958)
House Of Wax (1953)
Frankenstein (1931)
Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964)
Julie (1952)
The Uninvited (1944)
The Picture Of Dorian Gray (1945)
The Phantom of the Opera (1925)
Night Of The Living Dead (1968)
The Lodger (1944)
Rosemary's Baby (1968)
The Old Dark House (1932)
The Man Who Laughs (1928)
The Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)
A Cry In The Night (1956)
The Omen (1976)
Nosferatu (1922)
The Innocents (1961)
The Wolfman (1941)
Carrie (1976)
Night Must Fall (1938)
The Birds (1963)
The Night Walker (1965)
The Bad Seed (1963)
M (1931)
Psycho (1960)
Sorry, Wrong Number (1948)
While The City Sleeps (1956)
The Spiral Staircase (1946)
Shadow Of A Doubt (1943)
Midnight Lace (1960)

Happy Halloween, everyone, hope you have a spookily good time watching this!

  • Happy Halloween 2011 :D nicely done i like it. Lots of classic horror, i like how when the Psycho music starts it shows Norman Bates

  • Great.! Where can I buy the soudntrack It's great!

  • Love these images. I really like that B Classic "I Saw What You Did" for fun and that moving "Cat People". Just about all of these classics will keep me up tonight if I really watch them. I'd so forgotten that really old one "M" with Peter Lorre. Nothing like the old ones. Thanks for reminding us.

  • I'll be honest for a minute, im 18 years old and i love the classic horror films like Frankenstein (1931), Dracula (1931), The Innocents (1961), and The Exorcist (1973)..... they were so good and scary relies on suspense and terror and still have the power to do it but today, its all about gore, torture and nudity..... yes, there's a few good ones still out there today like Devils Rejects (2003) and REC (2007).... its all about remakes and rip-offs and i think Hollywood has ran out of ideas :(

  • oooooooooooh very well done! bravo! Lady E --[--@

  • Outstanding !!! Great job, love those old B horror movies.
