  • Not bad at all,

Prince Norodom Seriwood is certainly of of the best old Khmer singers.

  • oh my god !!!!!!!!!! this is one of my all time favorite songs ever ! this is the first time i've ever heard the orginal ..thank you so much !!!!!

  • I agree with Prince Ravisisowath, this song was sung by Prince Sisowath Panara Sirivuth! Not by Norodom Sereyvuth! people mixed up with the name.

  • Hi again. Any chance anyone can tell me where to get a copy of this song? I really dig it, but don't want to open a YouTube video every time I want to listen. It would be great to know where a better version is, too - the guitar must sound terrific at higher quality. Thanks for your time!

  • dahlzel,

i'm sorry i aint remember; it was more than 30 years ago. all i remember is that it was broadcast on cambodian tv at least twice.

  • Great song - it's one I've been looking for! Pkving, do you remember what the French music movie was called? I'd love to try and find a copy. Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks for telling. I did a search and was able to listen to Sereyvuth's version of Anny. I like the music of Sereyvuth's version but the vocal, I have to give it to Sin Sisamouth. Heh.

  • ravisisowath,

sorry if dat phrase "whatever de fuck it was" hurts your feelin'. frankly when i wrote it i simply wanted 2 insert some fun without tryin' 2 think dat it might hurt de feelin' of some people. again sorry.

  • I really don't understand the way you are using some words such as "whatever the fuck it was"! At that time, Prince Sisowath Panara Sereyvuth only used his first name "Sereyvuth" while he was in the Apsara Band. I did not mean to be agressive but just to add precisions that might be useful.

  • funny, in the late 60s when i was a kid, i thought it was "korng keb"!! now the sub-titles in this video say that it's "hvo-ung kha-ek", & i listen 2 the song carefully 2 verify, & yeah yeah it's indeed "hvo-ung kha-ek"!! d'ohh!!

sad but sentimental & great song!! makes me nostalgic of cambodia. actually it was a famous song back then in the late 60s. in 1972 or so cambodian tv broadcast a french music film that included this song, sung by sereyvuth himself, altho it was probably a lipsynch.
