Great Britain is a nation with 60 million people and we had 42 gun deaths last year including suicides. The U.S. has 5 times our population but has 35,000+ gun deaths including 3500 children each year. This is why the vast majority of people support gun control in the UK.

But you can Still have a hunting gun or shotgun just a lot of paper work and cheaks involed!

I used to think it was crazy that americans were so enthusiastic about their guns. But I completely understand their ideology now.

@shaunyboy1000 I've seen news reports of people driving cars into schools, markets, day-care centers, etc. Killing people in each instance. why no public outcry to ban cars?

What most people outside the UK fail to realise is that not much actually happened because of the handgun ban. The vast majority of people didn't have a gun anyway so it didn't affect them. There was practically no one with a gun before the ban and it really didn't affect Britain much at all. The majority of the people who cared were right wing newspapers and the US media.

If the time comes when the US government tries to take our weapons I think we are going to and should overthrow the government even if that means using deadly force, by taking away our weapons you take away our freedom.... Thats what happened when Germany banned guns on citizens in the 1930s a crazy guy named Hitler took over.

@FaithLessTQWH Best part about TX is that gun laws are VERY loose. Only downside is that we dont have open carry laws. Still, concealed carry is just as good. My overall favorite part is that we are okay will Class III weapons/Federal weapons. First thing I plan to get in a few when I go legal is to get a silencer for my Makarov. Nothing better than carrying a KGB weapon, while having a silencer with it, and legally carrying both concealed!
I pity the UK, and should look at V For Vendetta.

ever heard of operation gun runner?
it was a liberal excuse to justify stricter gun laws and gun control.obama, clinton and pelosi and feinstein were in on it they want to take away your freedom.gun control has beeen inacted by stalin, hitler, pol pot, sadom hussein, and gudaffi.gun control is the key to genocide.these are facts all of which are true

Like most non-Americans I'm against gun control in the U.S. All those guns are bound to lead to a huge civil war, which might keep you busy enough to lay off Saving the World from Communists, Drugs, Moslems or whatever you think of next, by bombing people and arming any bunch of murderous crazies who'll pay lipservice to the cant about Freedom And Democracy you like to hear. Go on, shoot that asshole next door, you know you want to.
I live in the US, I actually called a police because I feared that someone's life was in jepordy. "NO ONE CAME". But I had a gun just incase things got really violent.

@MavHunter20XX Yeah. It's very common place actually. In Los Angeles, the cops are dicks. They're crooked, and are like sharks hunting for the wounded and never minding other killers.

People are moaning about the ban on guns are they forgetting that it was because some guy walked into a school and shot up a bunch of children. Thats not happened here since. has in america though Hmmm

@shaunyboy1000 Because of some lone nut shooting up a school doesn't mean we all suffer the effects of gun bans. That's like saying, because someone chocked on water and died, no one gets water.
So if someone drowns at the beach, does that mean people never get to step foot in the ocean again? That's just not practical and not a good justification to violating rights given to us. Schools need to monitor who comes in/out. That instance was probably another set up to revoke rights...generally is.

@FaithLessTQWH You cant compare drowning at the beach to people being shot. Drowning is an accident when someone shoots someone they often intend to kill. Bottom line the streets are safer without guns. How is it better to walk outside knowing that everyone is carrying a gun. And what rights given to us where does it say that the people of Britain are alowed to own a gun?

@shaunyboy1000 Maybe the intent is different, but what I meant to illustrate is that because something can be used for bad, doesn't mean it should be banned. Generally in cities that allow their people to carry weapons, since everyone has a gun, no one's really in a hurry to get trigger happy, knowing they'll quickly be matched with someone else that may have a bigger gun. That's how it is in Texas. Maybe in Britain you weren't afforded rights to guns, but we were here in America.
