This is impressive. It'd also be nice to see her technique; I'm always interested in new ways of knitting :)

I am in awe at her speed. She just blazes through it like its second nature. Probably is for her. Surprised the yarn doesn't catch fire from all the friction. JK, LOL!!

try tucking one needle under your right arm to hold it steady. Wrap the yarn loosely once around your right little finger , bring it up under the palm of your right hand and let it lie over the tip of your right index finger. Once you have cast on your loops and you start knitting, you should only need to move your index finger to throw the yarn over the needles. Keep practising and you will speed up.

It is traditional english/scottish knitting. Continental knitting (popular in America) holds the yarn over the left hand and picks up the stitch as if you were doing crochet. English knitting is where the yarn is held in the right hand and is thrown forward over the needles before coming to rest back over the righ hand/fingers. I have tried both methods but I always go back to traditional english knitting.

takes years and years and years and years of practice. My granny was a fast knitter and was taught to knit (in Scotland) at the age of 3. I think she was probably as fast as this lady. I have been knitting for over 50 years and I am still not as quick as my granny and this lady...ah well, I'll just keep going.

I was thinking the same thing. So I made a calculation based on the last sweater I knit - it took her about 1 day. Now I reminded myself how long it took me to make it ::embarrassed::.
