Here is the skull head I've been making for the All Souls Procession (much like a parade which anyone can join in). This year celebrates 2o years of this event with more than 20,000 participants, and was inspiried by Mexico's Dia de los Muertos. As usual, I'm working hard to get this finished, as it took much longer than expected to construct. Tucson, AZ 2009

  • hola...do you have vids of how you did the structure. My sister is having a DIA DE LOS MUERTOS performance and we want to use big skulls. Would you mind to share how to? gracias

  • @cabopulmo Hi, sorry, I didn't film any of the beginning stages...basically, you have to construct some sort of framework to paper mache over. I used chicken wire, but have seen others who have used: wadded up paper, cardboard, tape, clay, balloons, empty containers (you have to just visualize it and be creative)...I used green floral foam (carved) for the teeth. Good luck & have fun!

  • That's awesome.

thanks...I thought it would be a quick project...it seems all projects take AT LEAST twice as long as imagined!!
