Você deve lembrar-se da VDU, o projeto do Ricardo Oazem (Tecnobytes), que aumenta muito a capacidade gráfica do MSX. Be... Ele criou uma nova placa, a VSU (Video Sound Upgrade), que leva o MSX a limites inimagináveis: 4 V9990, 2 V9958, 1 OPL4, 3,25Mb de RAM (gráfico + som). Divirtam-se. Todos esses demos foram escritos em MSX-BASIC. Todos eles.

Esse demo usa gráficos do jogo Mickey Mouse: The Magical Quest, do SNES. Sem som, de fato.

You may remember about VDU, Ricardo Oazem's project (from Tecnobytes), which increases greatly the MSX graphic capabilities. Well... he created a new board, the VSU (Video Sound Upgrade), which takes the MSX to unbelievable limits: 4 V9990, 2 V9958, 1 OPL4, 3,25 Mb RAM (graphic+sound). Enjoy yourself. All of these demos are written in MSX-BASIC. All of them.

This demo uses graphics from the SNES game Mickey Mouse: The Magical Quest. No sound, indeed.

  • One VDP can do that (2 planes with priority).

    So, where are the "4 V9990, 2 V9958" in this demo ???

  • 1. Cubra su boca con la mano

    2. Pida un deseo

    3. Cerrar la mano (puño)

    4. Mantenga usted la mano en el corazón durante 5 segundos

    5. Enviar esta a 3 más vídeos

    6. mañana será el mejor día siempre

  • Looks just like a 16 bit machine! It's frickin' awesome for beeing just an MSX!

  • Gringos? I'm from Spain and not able to understand portuguese in a full way.

  • You should understand this is a 8bit machine, running on a 3.5mhz processor. No, I didnt type it wrong, it's not Ghz, its Mhz!

  • 'we'?

I'd prefer oldschool graphics with proper, lasting, addictive gameplay over 'stunning' 3D graphics anytime..

All the 'overwhelming' graphics they use nowadays is just to hide the fact that they spent zip time and effort on actual (re-)playability and originality.

To see an 8-bit(!) machine like the MSX do this, is pretty amazing. Back in the old days programmers actually tried to get the best out of the available hardware, instead of demanding users to upgrade every month...

  • Thats it, taba!

  • WONDERFUL!

    THIS IS MSX!

  • Bom, senhor sabichão, já te disseram q o Z80 é apenas 8 bits?

    rs

Tô impressionado com o VSU... agora temos q escalar um time de programadores pra fazer um jogo pra arrebentar! :)
