  • I loved going on the Isle of Wight Paddle steamers.

  • nice ship. here on the Mississippi River we have a couple of rear placed paddle steamers still in action. Now the barges are pushed by what we call towboats, :) go figure, liked this vid and I recall another sidewheeler that is still running in the UK - maybe I am wrong.

  • Great video. I remember the steamers at Totland Pier in the 1950's and early sixties. We used to swim round the pier and considered them a nuisance then - how we would like to see them now. I live just above Totland Pier, which is now in a poor state of repair.

  • wow, thats great- thanks ! My dad was working on the Embassy at that time as a deckhand, and I think the man working on it with the shock of blond hair is his friend from then, whom I know.. Thanks again.
