The puppet Lil Sonny J from TodaysbeatsTV decided to Pimp Dat Beat! The new Will.I.Am and Nicki Minaj new hit single "Check It Out" was inspirational and was inspired by the group he was producing 2NE1 and the korean pop culture, it's epic, but not quite enough for Sonny. Sonny liked the original, but preferred to slow it down to a more subtle urban street feel, by remixing and striping the 2NE1 pop culture sound and building from that. The Korean and Asian influence was felt. Nicki's rap was awesome as usual and will.i.am was just that, HIM. He does what he does, and we enjoy it to the full. We just wanted to add a little seasoning to the chicken wang, ya dig? by way of "PIMPIN IT"! (Although, I still love my Kimchee!) The David Letterman Late Show was great to watch, and we where both wondering would "Check it out" become a hit record. Would it be large in Hip Hop, or Pop? Is Nicki crossing over too soon? Or is she growing? Most feel it's a Lady Gaga copy. Will.i.am knows this Katy Perry, Lady Gaga thing and he fully understands the concept and he embellishes it into all of the artist that he produces. You can kind of hear the same color in Cheryl, She Loves Me, I got it from my mama. The translation in the video was interesting as well. I cant hate, you gotta love it, and if you don't the radio and tv is going to make you one way or another.
