@ToneGarvey Who said anything about hate? I said he was a hack, and it's true. Look what he turned them into after Brian left. "A cover band of themselves" as I've seen it put elsewhere. I love his musical contributions, and a lot of the older BB songs with him on lead are some of my favorite songs ever, but he's still the reason SMiLE never happened and he's still full of it. Sorry if that weirds you out, it's just how I feel.

I agree Capitol Records at the time crapped themselves when they heard SMiLE

and of course it would have been difficult to reproduce on stage which is where Mike Love comes in bur Brian was right Revolver & Pet Sounds proved that the studio was where the magic was created and concerts were needed to plug the music locally

They should have included a reproduction of the original &' single of Good Vibrations in the box set. Other than that, the box set is fantastic.

@bancombe1 I'm sure Mike sleeps well at night, being wealthy and healthy. Folks hate Mike mostly because they're sheep. Thankfully, the Dominic Priore/David Leaf bullshit mythmaking is starting to be refuted. Believe me, Brian's drug use is much more to blame than Mike Love for Smile's initial failure. If you listen to the box set, Mike's vocals are there and complete. So what then? Mike bullied Brian into not releasing it. Give me a fucking break. Seriously. Grow up, BW cultists.

Wow, I hear that these guys are going on a world tour! unbelievable. I'm 52 years old and remember seeing them on TV wearing the candy stripe shirts, I was just a child. History in the making.
