Summary. In 2006 a japanese TV show sends a 11 year old kyokushin karate kid (Shiratori Taiju, from the Nishitama Dojo in Tokyo) to china to compete vs a sanda/sanshou kid of the same age (name unknown as I cant make it out in the clip -if someone can provide better info i will include it).

Both kids put on a awesome display of skill that few adult pro kickboxers/fighters can match.
When these kids grow up and enter tournaments, it will be a pleasure to watch them compete.

First round is sanshou rules with chinese referee.
Second round is kyokushin rules with japanese referee
Third round is sanshou rules with chinese referee again

Note: sanshou/sanda is the name for the kickboxing/sparring in kungfu. Shorinken which they talk about in the clip is the common japanese way to say shaolin kungfu (shorin=shaolin. Shorinken=shaolin fist).

Mirrored from" 極真空手 vs 少林拳 ★ Kyokushin Karate vs Shoalin Xanda" which has not worked for many for a long time now.

In 2007 the same Japanese kid was sent to Thailand to face a kid Thaiboxer.

  • @darkairaxandrew You missed the point completely. The question is which style is superior. When you pit two styles against each other it's a matter of individual skill. If both are evenly matched it will depend on the opportunity of the moment. Every style has a unique perspective on strategy and technique.

and who would be "trying to be raped or kidnapped"?

I don't believe people aim to have that happen to them.

We're also talking about combat value not street applicability.

  • These kids fight way better than adults in 80% of the videos on youtube.

  • 7:16 HOLY SHIT DOUMAWASHI, AWESOME. Just like in the manga where the character tries to make a turnaround.

  • @kolsyrade Sir

The Japanese Furigana of the Chinese fighter's name is Mr. Ka Bun Tou(family name last) or Tou Bun Ka (Furigana is the reading of Kanji that is not read in Japanese). Mr. Tou was 11 years old and in the 6th grade. He was 160 centimeter tall and his weight was 39 kilograms. The style of martial arts he was training in was Shorin Ken Dai Sho. I don't know where you heard/seen the word "San Shou or Sanda" but I could not find it anywhere in this video. Thank you for your time. Osu

  • @gbatemper123 no the kid wouldn.t The kid in the Karate Gi learns Kyokushin karate. Its a pure striking martial art with NO grappling techniques. The Chinese kid does Sanda which has striking and grappling. My dad did Kyokushin so I know about it.

  • @DragonOfQin I wouldn't be suprised if the kid knew grappling techniques anyways, because he is so advanced.

  • @DragonOfQin You kidding? Just a bit more it would have been a leg lock

  • @badfoody Grappling was involved. Kyokushin does not teach grappling u retard. So the karate kid wouldnt know shit about grappling.

  • at 1:48 the Karate kid would've won if there was grappling involved. But anyway awesome fight seriously

  • @choyleefutkid1 ---true...very true

  • the karate kid gets cool points for the gi

  • Excellent vid, excellent fighters. Shows the use of that sidekick, which has begun to become forsaken in full contact, can really be effective! Thanks for posting this!
