Here is part 43 of my walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.
It goes from the point where Link & Blind return to the B1 level of the Thieves' Town Palace up to the point where Link enters the Ice Palace.
Areas explored in this video:
-Light World: Kakariko Village, the bordering the Desert of Mystery, and Lake Hylia & its south shore.
-Dark World: The Thieves' Town Palace (the various portions of the B1 level), the Village of Outcasts, the area bordering the Dark World equivalent of the Haunted Grove, the Dark World equivalent of the Great Swamp & the area west of it, and the Dark World equivalent of Lake Hylia.
What you'll find in this video:
-How to cause Blind, the Thieves' Town Palace boss, to reveal his true identity and how to easily defeat him with the Cane of Byrna.
-Link getting the crystal with the trapped Maiden inside after defeating Blind.
-The rescued maiden's message to Link.
-Link rescuing the blacksmith's lost partner in the Village of Outcasts.
-Link getting a Heart Piece in a secret underground cave by the Gossip Shop (the Dark World equivalent of the Smithery) that is revealed when all the stakes are hammered down.
-The blacksmith's reaction as Link brings his lost partner back to the Smithery in Kakariko Village.
-Link leaving the Master Sword at the Smithery & paying the blacksmiths to temper it.
-Link being scolded by the blacksmiths after trying to help them out by using the Magic Hammer.
-Link finding an abandoned chest with the key locked inside in the Gossip Shop.
-The various replies of the former thief next to the Desert of Mystery as Link brings him the abandoned chest to open.
-Link getting a Magic Bottle after the former thief by the Desert of Mystery entrance opens the abandoned chest for him.
-Link getting his stronger, tempered Master Sword back from the Smithery.
so wait, did the master sword untemper its self over the years?

I don't know. The Master Sword wasn't in the 2 NES games (that was the Magical Sword) which take place after this game since this one features of precursor of the Link of the NES games. So this may be the most recent game in the "timeline" (officially there isn't one, at least not rigidly followed) in which the Master Sword appears since I never played the newer ones on the Gamecube, GBA, Wii, or DS.

@Rockstar12z
I don't know if I'd call myself a vg geek since on average I probably play a lot less games than most people. But I am a big fan of classic games.
The cape is in the Cemetery. You need the Hammer from the first Dark World dungeon to get it. Once you have the Hammer, go to Kakariko Village, enter the Lost Woods from the westernmost entrance, go slightly east & come back down. Use the Hammer on the stake & lift the rock to reveal the transporter.

@Rockstar12z
You will then go to the Dark World. Go to the Village of Outcasts and make your way to Dark World equivalent of the Cemetery. Enter the fenced in area in the northeast & use the Mirror to go to the Light World in the fenced in grave. Dash into the grave with the Pegasus Boots to open it. Check out Part 30 of my walkthrough if you have any questions.

@plantsvszombs
You can either buy it for 500 rupees from that shop between the Village of Outcasts & the Pyramid or you can buy a blue shield (much cheaper) and take it to the Waterfall of Wishing & throw it in.
