skip to see the actual DNA @ 05:00 -
i'm extracting my DNA again - this time from blood, and in a more professional way than previously (like, i'm using Proteinase K in the process). the results are outstanding - awesome images of my DNA included!

  • may i ask what is the pattern formed in 6:30 ?

  • @kolu720

i guess it's "random", from motion of the fluids in the container.

  • Weird question : would you be able to extract dna from sperm ?? :D I know it's a weird and disgusting question but would it work ???

  • @919664

sure, shouldnt be a problem. i'd try it if i could, but it's not so easy... :P

  • Where and how did you get the needle?

  • @ChemCrazy81

i cant remember if i got them at a an online store or at the local pharmacy, but yeah, in the latter case, i probably said something like "i need 10 green-gauge butterfly venous lines" to obtain them. ;)

  • Omg this is so cool

  • @daverocker1 D'oh, I forgot that part. Too easy :D

  • @wiibot15 pleasure ;)

  • @JoostyBoy Thanx ;D

  • @pghg022 Dunno, on several forums a read something about (sour) chicken or mucus. I don't know, it's a very large molecule and it maybe not recognized by your tongue. Maybe salty and/or acidic. (It's an acid: DeoxyriboNucleic acid)

  • @wiibot15 Nothing, it would break down. Even if you transfect it (moving DNA into the cell) - which is very stressfull for cells, can't realise it happen to a complete human - it would break down, because the cell then contains to much odd DNA which probably produces the wrong proteins for the chosen cell type.

Oh, and remember to turn off CAPS LOCK before commenting ;) Cheers

  • Wow...You're really amazed me... Your experiment is really working! I can see the dna near the water surface. And by the way,i think i should buy the blood needle, because i ever had a horrible accident when i'm taking my own blood. I use the syringe with a quiet big needle....And when i take the needle out, my blood wouldn't stop till i prees it with the ice cube of 30 mnt.. Thank you for this Video.. Really helpfull.

  • @wiibot15 Ha. That happens every night. Awwww Yeahhhhhh!!!!!

  • Wirklich sehr nerdig, sich selber vor laufender Kamera Blut ab zu nehmen. Menschen wie Du sind viel zu selten :P .
