At precisely 3:20 of the second period, Spokane Chiefs fans began throwing innocent, cuddly, non-threatening teddy bears onto the ice in what appeared to be a collective display of enjoyment. Nearly 4000 bears, who had done nothing to deserve such treatment, were hurled ruthlessly onto the arena floor where they would meet their frozen fate. Seeming doomed to a tragic end, the bears were quickly gathered by concerned citizens. "It just started raining bears", netminder Kevin Armstrong recalled. Drayson Bowman who saw what was happening, started to pick up the helpless stuffed bruins. "I just knew I had to save them" said Bowman. Fortunately, every single bear was rescued and will be redistributed throughout the community. One can only hope they'll go to families who will take better care of them.
No, only watching because Drayson Bowman. I'm a 'Canes fan and he's one of our prospects.

Many teams in the CHL (well, at least in the LHJMQ) do that kind of thing for the community. They distribute them after to children that cannot afford teddy bear! So it's not ridiculous!
