Release concert for Enter The Haggis' first live album, 27 Sep 2002, Healey's Pub, Toronto, Ontario.
The Encore!! After a rousing finish, the band is back on the (tiny) stage to blow the roof in their inimitable fashion. I captured some fun banter (Brian needs a beeeer!) and a wonderful rendition of Amazing Grace by Craig Downie... then Brian Buchanan takes over the stage, aided and abetted by James "Seamus" Campbell on drums!
James' background is in jazz drumming, and he uses every ounce of it to shine here. Brian brings the crowd to a frenzy, and James teases us with mini-solos!
The whole fiddle/drum solo itself is 13 minutes, so I had, to my deep regret, to break it apart. The second part, with James' 5-minute solo, follows here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7rY2ip27Ik
And technically, there's no jigs, just a hornpipe and reels. :) The hornpipe went on to become No More Stones. Hmm, it'd be fun to have Brian tell us in which song all the other tunes went. :)

Haha yeah! It's why the Solos aren't done anymore, all the tunes they were playing got co-opted into new songs. :)
Also, they play shorter shows now too; back then, they were doing three sets in a night, starting at 9pm and ending near 2am. There IS room for a 16 minute extravaganza like this at that point. :)
