http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graves_disease
The best article on the net to quickly grasp Graves' disease complex essence. When I ended my own research of GD (because doctors would give me shit for information), I had accumulated so much interesting and helpfull information, that it would have been a waste to keep it for myself. Instead of making a website, I decided to work my ass off to improve the lousy Wikipedia article on Graves Disease. I'm happy all that work turned out very well; in fact, I don't know of any other article where you can learn so much about GD. It makes clear the incredible empowerment Wikipedia can offer people. Information is everything. Don't forget the important subsection: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symptoms_and_signs_of_Graves%27_disease

If you want to really understand your disease, join your local/national Graves disease/thyroid disease association and engage in its online forum. The largest English forum about Graves' disease is this one from the (American) National Graves Disease Foundation. It is monitored by experienced people, which is a good thing, 'cause their is a lot of bad 'disinformation' flying around on the internet.

Very qualitative and nuanced information.

The third section is a compilation of (a lot of) scientific extracts.
http://www.thyroidmanager.org/
Thyroid disease related information directed at professionals, some very detailed sections about Graves disease. Actually not very helpfull for the layman, very technical. Just included it because the amount and depth of the info about thyroid disease in general, is incredible.

Thank you. GD is more devastating and overwhelming than is apparent on the surface. This makes it difficult for friends or family to even marginally grasp the physical and emotional devastation of this disease. I hang on to the occasional small window of "normality" I have sometimes when my levels are good. It reminds me I still exist somewhere inside this nightmare.

First I would like to thank you for these videos, and text. I really can relate to you. GD gives those feelings that you just don't talk about normally...Gravers should talk about them, its the silence that slowed down research. by the way, I had lost all hope untill one day I got a "good" feeling just like that, everything was gonna be OK, complete satisfaction. That one day...made me have hope again...

Thank you so much for great text on GD in addition to video. Copying your text to give to my Dr., Endo & Shrink. Did you do RIA? I'm way to afraid of radiation & can't find qualified surgeon to remove in my area. Plus, afraid I'll feel worse w/more mental issues in addition to the physical. puddle of sweat :( Endo keeps telling me "numbers are normal/good/ok" & many, many symptoms continue. Need an endo to treat symptoms & ignore numbers? I guess. Thanks again

Wow! Thanks for sharing. It gave me chills and some tears. How very true to our lives it is. I forwarded the link to my family so maybe they can understand more of what goes on with our minds and bodies. Hugs, Pat
