Donna Allen - Satisfied

Donna Allen is a native of Tampa, Florida. She was a cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, in the late 70s, when she got her start performing with local bands before launching a solo career.
Allen's debut album, Perfect Timing released in 1987, included the up-tempo single 'Serious' and the follow up singles 'Satisfied', and 'Perfect Timing' (duet with Howard Johnson). Her second album was Heaven On Earth, released in 1988, had the cover of the Maze & Frankie Beverly song, 'Joy and Pain' that did well on the R&B charts. Allen also recorded the song, 'Real', that is on the movie soundtrack for 'The Specialist' in 1994, and released, 'He Is The Joy', a House Music track with a Gospel flavor in 1999.

This lady has a serious set of pipes on her. Sorry she didn't do better. She has a serious voice. Expressive and soulful, but when a singer has it like that it may be hard to know what to do with them. Glad I discovered her....

At the 0:21 mark, the bumper on the Jag is bent! And the back-up singers are laying their dances on a bit thick (moves especially looking a bit extra for the man in the middle). A lot of weird 80s stuff going on here.

I've always liked this song though. Plus those old copyright tags you'd see at the end of Atlantic videos like at the 3:29 mark
